Navigating the Fountain Maintenance Maze: Expert Tips and Tricks

As someone who’s been in the fountain business for years, I’ve seen it all – from stunning water displays that captivate audiences to nightmarish maintenance problems that leave owners pulling their hair out. But you know what they say, “With great fountains come great responsibility.” And that’s where I come in to share my hard-earned fountain wisdom.

Mastering the Holding Area Shuffle

Let me tell you about one of the most useful tricks I’ve learned – the art of the holding area shuffle. You know that section at the bottom of your screen, the one that holds all your fountain-related goodies? Well, it turns out there’s a way to cycle through that queue and choose exactly what item you want to pull out.

Here’s how it works: First, you’ve got to fill up your entire board – and I mean every last inch. You can use some cheap filler like water leaves or peony seeds, or just move stuff from your inventory onto the board. Now, select one of those items and sell it. This opens up a space on your board. Next, click on the first item in the holding area, and it’ll move to that empty spot.

But here’s the kicker – click undo before you do anything else. This will put that sold item back on your board, and the item from the holding area will move to the back of the queue. Repeat this process until you find the exact item you need.

This trick is an absolute game-changer because it frees up tons of valuable inventory and board space. Plus, you can store an indefinite amount of daily rewards and other goodies to use when you need them most. Trust me, once you get the hang of it, you’ll be cycling through that holding area like a pro.

Tapping Those Chests

Now, let’s talk about another essential fountain maintenance technique – tapping those chests. You know the ones I’m talking about, the brown and blue beauties that hold all sorts of fountain-related goodies.

Level 1 Brown Chests can be tapped 9 times before they disappear, and Level 1 Fancy Blue Chests can be tapped 11 times. But here’s the catch – if you want to merge those chests into a full Level 2 chest, the second chest has to be unopened and untapped. Otherwise, you’re going to end up with a chest that’s not quite as bountiful.

But wait, there’s more! That chest-tapping trick can also be used on chests that have been split by the scissors. Level 2 Fancy Blue Chests can be tapped 27 times before they’re done for. Split one that’s almost empty, tap one of the Level 1 chests 11 times, and then merge it back with the untapped one. Boom, you’ve got a brand new full Level 2 chest to tap and split again.

Scissors are a godsend, let me tell you. They can turn one Level 2 chest into the equivalent of around 4 extra Level 2 chests’ worth of drops. And when it comes to those limited-time Fancy Blue Chests, the scissors are pure gold. Just be careful if you’ve got a purchased chest – there’s a known bug there that the developers are working on.

Piggy Bank Perfection

Alright, let’s move on to another fountain maintenance essential – piggies. Yeah, you heard me right, those little oinking wonders can be a fountain owner’s best friend.

Here’s the key – always tap your piggies before merging them. Start by tapping a Level 1 piggy 14 times on Day 1, then do the same on Day 2. Merge those two Level 1 piggies into a full Level 2 piggy, but don’t tap it yet. Repeat the process on Days 3 and 4, and then merge those two Level 2 piggies into a full Level 3 piggy.

A full Level 3 piggy has a whopping 57 high-quality drops, and you can store those bad boys in your holding area using the trick we talked about earlier. That way, you can do the whole process at once instead of having to log in every day.

Producers and Their Quirks

Now, let’s dive into the world of fountain producers – those little machines that churn out all the essential components you need to keep your fountain running smoothly. But let me tell you, not all producers are created equal.

Garden Toolboxes are the MVPs in my book. Upgrade them to Level 8 as soon as you can, and only tap on those high-level versions. Why? Because they can drop Level 1 to 3 tools, making them super energy-efficient and fast when you’re trying to merge up those saws, shovels, rakes, and shoes.

Toolboxes, on the other hand, are a bit of a mixed bag. They recharge super fast, but they’ll only ever drop Level 1 wrenches, no matter what level they are. So, if you want to maximize your drops, stick with at least 3 active Level 6 toolboxes on your board.

Drawers and Blue Pots are pretty straightforward – just merge ’em up whenever you can. Drawers max out at Level 7 and can drop Garden Toolbox, Blue Pots, and Drawer components, while the Blue Pots can give you 10 seed packs each when they’re fully charged.

But the real headache in the fountain world? Broom Cabinets. These things are the worst. High-level cabinets don’t hold any charge, they have low drop counts, and they only give you Level 1 cleaning tools. And let me tell you, those high-level cleaning tools you need, like mops, squeegees, and brooms? They take forever to make.

My advice? Don’t upgrade your broom cabinets. Instead, hold on to those lower-level ones. That way, you can counteract the lack of recharge stacks and minimize the frequency of having to log in and clear them out. Trust me, it’ll save you from a major burnout.

Navigating the Fountain Maintenance Maze

I know, it’s a lot to take in, but once you master these tricks and techniques, you’ll be navigating the fountain maintenance maze like a pro. And let me tell you, it’s worth it. Those stunning water displays don’t just happen by themselves, you know?

So, keep those holding area shuffles in your back pocket, tap those chests with precision, perfect your piggy bank routine, and learn to love (or at least tolerate) those quirky producers. Before you know it, you’ll be a fountain maintenance wizard, and your water features will be the envy of the neighborhood.
